J S Murarka Multiple Campus Lahan, Siraha has been one of the pioneer academic institutions in Nepal nursing the students with quality and practical education for more than three decades and is very proud of welcoming everyone to be benefitted with higher education in different streams from +2 level to Master’s level under the panoramic and peaceful environment.
The institution has successfully been stepping its academic journey ahead laying its due focus on creating harmony with the stakeholders from its inception and placing the students at the most self-motivated teaching and learning activities that are very helpful for them to reach their destination. The faculty members and other supporting staff are hearty dedicated to quality teaching and personalized student services. With the increasing number of enrollment, graduates, their concerns of quality and relevance of higher education programs, J S Murarka Multiple Campus Lahan has been the largest community based higher institution in Madhesh Province addressing the enrolled and graduated by keeping in the view of employability of the graduates and/or their capacity for self initiatives/entrepreneurships to generate employment.
The campus is located in the picturesque and peaceful surroundings at the heart of Lahan Municipality, Siraha, Madhesh Province, Nepal. The campus now has been proved itself as a non-profit organization established solely with the view to deliver higher education to the educationally backward areas of the country, and also as the centre of excellence in higher education due to its quality, adequate infrastructures, affordable fee structures and convenient location in this province. Beautifully the internal settings are built to offer plentiful access to advance physical, technological and academic facilities needed to support everyday curricula as well as extra-curricular events.
Since its inception, J S Murarka Multiple Campus has set several landmarks in educational history of not only Madhesh Province but the country as a whole. The award of Quality assurance and Accreditation (QAA) certificate by UGC and the selection of the best community campus award by the Government of Nepal in 2076 for its excellence performance in higher education are memorable achievements of the campus so far.
J S Murarka Multiple Campus Lahan (JSMMC) is a pioneer, QAA certified, and the largest community-based campus of Madhesh Province located in the picturesque and peaceful surroundings at the heart of Lahan Municipality, Siraha, Nepal. The campus was established in 2044 BS with the collaborative efforts to fulfil the demands of people around this area in the field of education, and aims to bring comprehensive reforms in higher education in the country particularly by enhancing quality and relevance of higher education by improving access for academically qualified under-privileged students, including girls, dalits and educationally disadvantaged janjati to higher education. The campus now has been proved itself as a non-profit organization established solely with the view to provide higher education to the educationally backward areas of the country, and also as the centre of excellence in higher education due to its quality, adequate infrastructures, affordable fee structures and convenient location in this province.
The campus started its services among the public with the faculty of humanities from proficiency certificate level in the affiliation with Tribhuwan University, and currently it has practically been providing different programs from +2 levels to post graduate level in Humanities, Education, Management and Science. The campus is situated at Lahan Municipality – 10 near Gramin Chowk in the mid part of Lahan, 2.5 km far from the national highway. Lahan Municipality has provided a land plot of 15-16-01 bigha as its main property. The campus premises surrounded by the spacious compound are finely built having state of the art infrastructure supported by the renowned social worker and business entrepreneur, late Prameshwor Murarka and Atama Ram Murarka, and Lahan Municipality. Now it has separated blocks for respective teaching and non-teaching activities. Physically and technologically, the campus has been well facilited, i.e. a model campus of the area.
The campus successfully completed Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) cycle of the UGC , and was accredited in 2076. Similarly, this campus was declared as the best community campus of Nepal by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the year 2076, was awarded with a cash prize of two lakhs rupees which has remained as a new milestone in its history. Since its establishment, JSMMC has produced thousands of students with sound academic skills serving in different sectors across the country and abroad as well.
